Healthy

To be a great athlete that comes with eating well and knowing what foods are to good for your body when performing a sport. If you put in the right foods in your body then you are more likely to perform better than anyone else. If you think about it what kind of kids perform harder and better? The kids that eat a lot of junk food or the kids that eat healthy and energy foods? I would go with the healthier kids, but there are always exceptions with this.  I know many athletes that do not eat healthy and still succeed and perform really well; better than any other kid that eats healthy.

Some good foods to eat when at a long tournament are, fruits and vegetables, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, power milk, protein bars, pretty much anything that will provide you energy to finish out the day. Bringing your own food to tournaments will help you to stay on the healthy track instead of eating concession food, which isn't usually healthy food. This will also keep you from spending a lot of money on food.

At volleyball tournaments there is ALWAYS a lot of food at the team camp. Every player brings some kind of food and many times the food isn't healthy. This is very hard to control yourself to not eat the unhealthy food. I am one of these persons that want to eat everything and anything in front of me. During a long day of a sport, athletes are bound to get tired, so eating healthy will help you keep the energy you need to play for that day or multiple days.
